Rob Johnson's new single "The Wasp And The Flame" (from his new album Throw The Sun Into The Sea) can be downloaded here. The album is the follow up to 2009's Upon A Painted Ocean, which featured guest vocals from Max Bemis of Say Anything.
At this point, we've all decided to listen to Max Bemis through thick and thin, in sickness and in health. For nearly ten years, the Say Anything mastermind has won over fans through all kinds of sounds, and will do it again with the release of Anarchy, My Dear on March 13th via Equal Vision Records. I had the chance to chat with Max, where we talked about the new record, "Admit It Again," ...Is A Real Boy, Perma (his band with wife Sherri Dupree-Bemis), and the future in general. You can read the feature right here.
Say Anything frontman Max Bemis has launched an imprint label on Equal Vision Records called Rory Records. The first signing is Tampa's Tallhart. The band will release an EP produced by Bemis, Tim McTague (of Underoath) and Dean Tidey (of Feeder) in the spring. The first single, "Fever (Sister of Mine)," will be released digitally on March 6th. Read the press release in the replies.
Watch a full set from Max Bemishere. He plays a great mix of material from all of the Say Anything albums, along with a few surprises, including a new song entitled "Say Anything." He was full of energy on the first date of his solo tour, so be sure to check out a show if you get the chance.
Joe of American Dream Records has two extra tickets to the Max Bemis and Sherri DuPree show on December 9th at the Masquerade in Atlanta, and he wants to give them away. Now, you may be asking yourself how to win tickets to such an amazing show and it's very simple. Just post in this very thread why you deserve them. Joe and I will select the winners. Good luck.
Andy Hull, Tom DeLonge, Max Bemis, and Anthony Green each have new studio project T-shirts and shoe designs for Macbeth Footwear. They will be released as part of the Spring 2011 line-up. You can view them here.
The Max Bemis Song Shop has re-opened. There is now a cheaper option for a shorter song. Additionally, the first 1500 people to purchase a song will receive a phone call from Max. More details in the replies.
Max Bemis will release a lo-fi post punk full-length album under the name Max Bemis and the Painful Splits. Each copy will be signed and sold exclusively on Say Anything's upcoming tour with Motion City Soundtrack.
Upon a Painted Ocean, Rob Johnson's new album, which features guest vocals from Max Bemis, will be released digitally on September 1st. More details and clips from every song on the album can be found here.
Max Bemix (Say Anything) read some of your posts and was flattered by how nice some of you were (that's a first), and thus decided to do an acoustic version of "Colorblind." Only browsing casually, TiffyWiffy?
