Nirvana's Krist Novoselic wrote a blog about the band's induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
I am so happy about the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame event and how it went so well. Earlier that week there were three long days of rehearsals in NYC. I feel we conjured the spirit of the band, and we could not have done that alone. This, for me, is a bittersweet notion as we all miss Kurt so much. But considering we were inducted, the show had to go on. Joan Jett was first on my list to be out front. I spoke to Dave about it and he ran with the idea of having all women lead. We felt that would be a good tribute to Kurt and what Nirvana was about.

It was a good balance of females as...

Twenty years ago today, Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound. For the anniversary I've seen a variety of features go up talking about the best Nirvana songs and debating Nirvana's relative musical worth. While all of those features and debates are worth having -- I'm having a different time with it today. I apologize in advance for taking this to a slightly dark place, but last night I found out that my cousin, whom I spent much of my childhood with as he was only a year younger than me, took his own life. So, while the world remembers Kurt today -- I just need to take a moment to also draw attention to depression and the lifelong battle it brings upon...

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame has announced its nominees for the class of 2014, and the list is a rather illustrious one. Nirvana, The Replacements, Peter Gabriel, and KISS, as well as Cat Stevens, N.W.A., Hall and Oates, Linda Ronstadt, Yes, LL Cool J, Chic, Deep Purple, The Zombies, The Meters, Link Wray, and the Paul Butterfield Blues Band, are all up for induction.

The top five vote-getters will be inducted into Cleveland's Rock and Roll Hall of Fame next April, and like last year, the public can vote for their favorites with a "fan ballot" at RollingStone.com. I wonder if Nirvana will make it.
