Razor & Tie has signed INVSN. The Swedish alt-rock group was formed by Refused frontman Dennis Lyxzn. The band will release their new album in the fall. Listen to the track, "Down in the Shadows," here.

Ever wondered what Refused's The Shape of Punk To Come would look with a Corvo Attano influence? Or Black Flag's logo with Shigesato Itoi's artistic vision? Chris Person decided to create a mash-up of hardcore gaming and hardcore album covers in Photoshop and here's what he and other commenters came up with.

It's been quite a long weekend. It's been quite an amazing one as well. Head to the replies to check out reviews of Saturday's Fun Fun Fun Fest where user Dustin Harkins and I finally got to see Refused destroy our senses for an hour. You can view photos from the weekend over on our Facebook page. Our reviews of Sunday will be up tomorrow.

2012 is coming to a close, and I never thought I would see At the Drive-In's first reunion in over a decade. This weekend I will be seeing Refused's second to last U.S. show at the seventh annual Fun Fun Fun Fest. With the demise of three of my favorite bands this past year (Thursday, Thrice, RX Bandits), it seems ten years later I'm closing an important volume of understanding what punk rock really is. In honor of all of this, I've put together a special feature on the band's seminal record, The Shape of Punk to Come.

Four years ago I started working on a book which chronicles the "post-hardcore" scene from The Shape of Punk to Come to We Are the Romans to Worship and Tribute to...

Refused have posted an update on facebook about past few months, and their return home from the road.
From the BlogSo there were those years right after school, when you were 15 and pissed off and everyone thought you were a loser and you ran around with the other weirdos, generating weirdness and little else. And there were those years when what set you apart from the others become a fixation and a lifestyle and you had a band and people talked about what you did but you were so used to being weird you just lumped them in with the rest of the slanderers. Then there were those years when the ideas you'd clung to through late adolescence were beginning to ring hollow and you got more and...

As we posted a couple days ago, Refused played a secret garage show in Brooklyn to 100 people right after selling out the 3,000-capacity Terminal 5 in New York City on Sunday. A good friend of the program, Daytrader vocalist Tym (he doesn't have a last name, deal with it), managed to catch both shows. Want to know what it was like? Check the replies to read about his thoughts on Refused's reunion and the legendary double-header of shows Sunday.

Refused played a secret show tonight in a garage called The Acheron in Brooklyn, N.Y. If you check out tweets, you can see some pictures that people took. Only about 100 people saw the set. Our good friend Tym (vocalist, Daytrader) managed to catch the show, so you can expect a guest blog from him about it on AP.net within the next couple of days. Sounds like it was a good time.

Due to circumstances beyond their control, Refused will not be playing tomorrow night on the Late Night With Jimmy Fallon show. They have been rescheduled to appear sometime in July.

Refused announced yesterday a show in Detroit on July 25. Today, dates in Atlanta on July 15 and Silver Springs, MD, on July 16 have made their way online. All three dates are with Off! and go on sale this Friday. It seems as though Refused might be touring its way to, and then away from, Riot Fest East in Philly, which they are headlining. There are also a bunch more European dates for June and July. Seriously guys....is a tour in the works?

Due to extremely high demand, Refused have added a second NYC show on Sunday, April 22nd.
Message from the Band"We are extremely flattered at the overwhelming response to our New York City show. Tickets sold out in less than an hour. Unfortunately we realize that there are some people who are abusing this and attempting to re-sell those tickets at an unfair price. In order to serve our fans we will be adding a second show at TERMINAL 5 on Sunday, April 22nd. The pre-sale tickets and bundles will benefit Shirts For A Cure and will go on sale Tuesday, Jan 31 at 3PM EST with the public on-sale to follow on Wednesday, February 1 at 12PM EST. Tak Som Fan (Thank You!)."

A lot happened yesterday, so we figured we'd give a quick recap on what happened in case you missed it. It seemed like anything was possible on January 9th. Rumblings about a possible The Receiving End Of Sirens reunion? Awesome. At The Drive-In reuniting for the first time in 11 years? Wow. The iconic punk band Refused burying the hatchet to play this year's Coachella festival? Holy shit. Which reunion made you fill up your pants quicker?
Drew Beringer on 01/10/12 - 09:36 AM
In light of yesterday's news of reunions by both At the Drive In and Refused (as well as many reunions to date), I've given some thought to seeing the past moments we cherish being played out in the present. After reading this, hit the replies and let us know your favorite moment that no reunion could ever recreate. Was it in a basement? Was it with less than 50 people? Did the performance floor you, and at that moment, did you know that particular band would be something special years later?
Adam Pfleider on 01/10/12 - 07:34 AM
Refused has a Twitter handle now. The band's first tweet? Simple: "Refused are not fuckin' dead."
Thomas Nassiff on 01/09/12 - 10:36 PM
Refused have issued an official statement regarding their reunion. So far they have only announced an appearance at Coachella.

Just in case there was a small, small part of you that was holding out hope, Dennis Lyxzn wants everyone to know Refused is absolutely not getting back together. Also, he is not a big fan of the current generation of hardcore bands he sees.
Quote"Sometimes we'll watch MTV and there's this awful metal band and someone will point at me and say, 'This is your fault.' I kinda get bummed out."
Paul Tao on 05/10/10 - 04:39 PM
Refused's The Shape of Punk to Come can be pre-ordered on a vinyl re-issue on Epitaph's webstore. The release date is set for June 8, and only the first 500 copies purchased will be on limited blue vinyl, so order yesterday. Other pre-order packages include a t-shirt or a copy of the band's DVD documentary.
Thomas Nassiff on 04/06/10 - 08:57 PM
Aesthetically, no one wants to ever be told what to expect. If a sound is so far off course from the norm, sometimes we don't even retain what just hit us right away. Like any sort of genre-defying move, the ideas eventually get regurgitated and overly run into the ground, or the ideas stem from earlier ground that never surfaced and took notice on a major level first. Refused has written their history with their 1998 album, The Shape of Punk to Come: A Chimercial Bombination in 12 Bursts. It was an album inspired by an inner circle of friends and musicians in Sweden who were constantly trying to out do each other creatively. Only two years before, the band released Songs to Fan the...
