Young the Giant (formerly The Jakes) havs begun recording their debut album with Joe Chiccarelli (The Strokes, My Morning Jacket, The White Stripes) in Los Angeles.

The Jakes are now going by Young the Giant. They will be heading into the studio with Joe Chicarelli (The White Stripes, My Morning Jacket, The Shins, Manchester Orchestra) to record their debut full length album. The Jakes have posted two new songs, "Cough Syrup" and "Pay the Piper", on their myspace. They come off their new album Shake My Hand which will be released August 18th. The album was produced by Zen Seven Studios (Stacy Clark, After Midnight Project, Vogue in the Movement, Them Terribles).
