After The War On Drugs finally commented on Mark Kozelek's one sided feud with the band, Mark has already responded in typical douche fashion. He has released audio of him "covering" Adam Granduciel's remarks while playing a blues riff and laughing like a child after every comment. If you have any respect left for the man and feel like losing it, you can stream the audio here.

After being berated by Mark Kozelek for weeks in a one sided fight, Adam Granduciel of The War on Drugs finally broke his silence on the situation in an interview with Songs For Whoever.
I mean, to be fair to that idiot, what he said in that song… I didn’t really have a problem with any of it until I heard the song. First of all, he never met us, and yet said all these things. He’s such a douche. I asked somebody if I could get his e-mail, because I wasn’t trying to start this stupid Twitter thing, I was just bummed. I went to a mutual friend who explained that he wouldn’t give out his e-mail address. So I just got an e-mail through this friend that said “Mark wants to come to the...

Meredith Graves of Perfect Pussy has written an editorial for Pitchfork about the continuing one-sided conflict between Sun Kil Moon's Mark Kozelak and The War on Drugs.
It seems this is most people's opinion of the one-sided beef: Kozelek, a notorious curmudgeon, isn't doing anything harmful by harassing these guys. In fact, he's just doing what he's always done—being a grumpy ass who doesn't seem to care what people think of him. These same people insist that ignoring him and letting him continue to do this kind of stuff is the best option moving forward. To speak up about this kind of behavior from artists and performers is to inevitably be met with, "Lighten up, not everything has...

Following the controversy between the two bands earlier this month, Sun Kil Moon's Mark Kozelek posted an explanation for his comments about The War On Drugs on his website. Now, Kozelek has challenged The War On Drugs to let him join them on stage at an upcoming show at the Fillmore on October 6th to perform a song he wrote called "War On Drugs: Suck My Cock/Sun Kil Moon: Go Fuck Yourself." You can't make this stuff up.
War On Drugs. Due to all of the fuss, I checked out your live track on Pitchfork, and I called it right. You sound like Don Henley meets John Cougar meets Dire Sraits meets "Born In The USA" era Bruce Springsteen. It's not a criticism, it's an observation.

I challenge...

Apparently Mark Kozelek of Sun Kil Moon wasn't too pleased that The War on Drugs were playing at the same time as him during Ottawa Folk Fest.
Kozelek attempted to launch into the album's confessional "Dogs" before noise from the main stage drew the singer into a couple of false starts, prompting him to address the crowd with, "Who the fuck is that?" When audience members jovially informed him that it was Philadelphia band the War on Drugs, Kozelek replied by saying, "I hate that beer commercial lead-guitar shit" before exclaiming, "This next song is called, 'The War on Drugs Can Suck My Fucking Dick.'"
