You may be familiar with Matthew Mayfield's smooth southern-rock sound, but it's always had an acoustic backbone. Recently, Mayfield has cast aside his acoustic guitar and resurrected his full-fledged rock project, The Blue Cut Robbery. The result is an expertly produced, hard hitting EP they call Coquette, which hosts some of the best sounding guitar licks I've heard in years. Today, we're proud to bring you the video premiere for the exceptional second track on that EP, "Nashville, TN." If you're into Pearl Jam or The Gaslight Anthem, you'll feel right at home. Check out the video in all its face-melting glory in the replies and be sure to pick up the EP here!

Twelve years ago, Ryan Adams was performing at Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium, when a fan decided to heckle Ryan to play Bryan Adams' forever timeless hit, "Summer of '69." Ryan Adams twelve years ago didn't care too much for this, ripping into the concert attendee and kicking him out of the show (refunding his money of course). That brings us to last night, where Ryan was playing the Ryman Auditorium once again, this time in a better state of mind and better spirit. Ryan finally covered Bryan's hit song just a mere 12 years later to the fans approval -- the video is in the replies.

Laura Jane Grace mashed up Michael McDonald and The Cure for AV Club.
While we were there, she played a stripped-down version of “Pretty Girls (The Mover)” and gave us some insight to the song’s creation and ongoing evolution. After that, though, she offered up a truly unexpected bonus track: a plaintive take on Michael McDonald’s 1982 hit “I Keep Forgettin’” with a drum loop of The Cure’s “Close To Me” as the backbeat.

We're premiering Aviator's new music video for "Weathervane" in the replies. This is a good time to remind you to check out their underappreciated full-length debut, Head in the Clouds, Hands in the Dirt, which came out last year on No Sleep Records. The Massachusetts-based band plays post-hardcore with a tinge of emo revival that should appeal to fans of La Dispute or Touche Amore.

The one benefit of a sea of smartphones at shows? When Jesse Lacey from Brand New forgets the lyrics to "Millstone" he can ask people in the audience to look them up. He's fucked if he wants "Degausser" though.
